Caminhos da Vida 

Salmo 25: 4 (AMP) Faze-me saber os teus caminhos, Senhor; ensina-me as tuas veredas.

Na vida, existem muitos caminhos que podemos seguir. Alguns caminhos levam à ruína, enquanto outros caminhos levam ao aumento e aprimoramento. Decidir qual caminho será o mais próspero para sua vida é uma tarefa difícil, a menos que você escolha permitir que o Senhor lhe mostre Seu caminho de vida. 

Salmo 16:11 (AMP) Far-me-ás ver a vereda da vida; na tua presença há fartura de alegrias; à tua mão direita há delícias perpetuamente.

Salmos 25:10 (AMP) Todas as veredas do Senhor são misericórdia e verdade para aqueles que guardam a sua aliança e os seus testemunhos.

Provérbios 3: 6 (AMP) Reconhece-o em todos os teus caminhos, e ele endireitará as tuas veredas.

O caminho estreito que leva ao relacionamento com Deus é o caminho da vida. Seguindo o mandamento de amar uns aos outros como Ele nos amou, nós O reconheceremos, e Ele nos direcionará para caminhos onde encontraremos satisfação, prosperidade, alegria, misericórdia e verdade. 

Concluindo a meditação

Quando escolhemos o Caminho Estreito, podemos encontrar alguns desafios ao longo do caminho, mas, no final, esse caminho nos conduzirá  à Sua presença e aos prazeres eternos.

Day 72

The Glory of God

1 Corinthians 10:23 (NKJV) All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify.

1 Corinthians 10:31–33 (NKJV) Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God, just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

Paul in chapter 10 of his first letter to the Corinthians encourages us to be sensitive to others when there is a possibility of giving a misunderstanding or offense. At times, it is difficult to know when your words or actions may cause offense. In verse 31 Paul helps us to understand how to be sensitive when he instructed us to do all to the glory of God. We can obtain a better understanding of what this means by looking at Exodus chapter 33.

Moses in Exodus chapter 33 asked God to show him His glory; And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.” Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” But He said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.” And the Lord said, “Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen.” To show Moses His glory the Lord made His goodness pass before him and proclaimed the name of the Lord while allowing Moses to see his back side.

In the New Testament Jesus is the manifest glory of God and to do all things to the glory of God simply means allowing the virtues/the personality of Christ, to be manifest through our lives in all circumstances.

Show peace to the agitated, forgive-ness to those that offend, give hope to the hopeless, kindness to those that are unkind, patience in all, and love to the unlovable and be steadfast in faith.  Do all things to the glory of God, manifest Jesus!

Ending Thoughts

The glory of God is Jesus. Is he being manifested through your life? The farther you go on the Narrow Road the more His life will be manifest through you. Above all be determined to know Him and you will.

A Glória de Deus

 

1 Coríntios 10:23 (ACF) Todas as coisas me são lícitas, mas nem todas as coisas convêm; todas as coisas me são lícitas, mas nem todas as coisas edificam.

1 Coríntios 10:31-33 (ACF) Portanto, quer comais quer bebais, ou façais outra qualquer coisa, fazei tudo para glória de Deus. Portai-vos de modo que não deis escândalo nem aos judeus, nem aos gregos, nem à igreja de Deus. Como também eu em tudo agrado a todos, não buscando o meu próprio proveito, mas o de muitos, para que assim se possam salvar.

Paulo no capítulo 10 de sua primeira carta ao Corinthians nos encoraja a sermos sensíveis aos outros quando existe a possibilidade de dar um mal-entendido ou ofensa. Às vezes, é difícil saber quando suas palavras ou ações podem ofender. No versículo 31, Paulo nos ajuda a entender como ser sensível quando nos instruiu a fazer tudo para a glória de Deus. Podemos obter uma melhor compreensão do que isso significa olhando para Êxodo capítulo 33. 

Moisés em Êxodo, capítulo 33, pediu a Deus que lhe mostrasse a sua glória. "Então ele disse: Rogo-te que me mostres a tua glória. Porém ele disse: Eu farei passar toda a minha bondade por diante de ti, e proclamarei o nome do Senhor diante de ti; e terei misericórdia de quem eu tiver misericórdia, e me compadecerei de quem eu me compadecer. E disse mais: Não poderás ver a minha face, porquanto homem nenhum verá a minha face, e viverá. Disse mais o Senhor: Eis aqui um lugar junto a mim; aqui te porás sobre a penha. E acontecerá que, quando a minha glória passar, pôr-te-ei numa fenda da penha, e te cobrirei com a minha mão, até que eu haja passado. E, havendo eu tirado a minha mão, me verás pelas costas; mas a minha face não se verá."

Para mostrar a Moisés a Sua glória, o Senhor fez a Sua bondade passar diante dele e proclamou o nome do Senhor, permitindo que Moisés visse a Suas costas. 

No Novo Testamento, Jesus é a glória manifesta de Deus e fazer todas as coisas para a glória de Deus significa simplesmente permitir que as virtudes/a personalidade de Cristo se manifestem através de nossas vidas em todas as circunstâncias. 

Mostre paz ao aflito, perdão àqueles que estão ofendidos, dê esperança aos desesperados, benevolência àqueles que são indelicados, tenha paciência em tudo, dê amor aos que não são amáveis e permaneça firme na fé. Faça todas as coisas para a glória de Deus, manifeste Jesus! 

Concluindo a meditação

A glória de Deus é Jesus. Ele está sendo manifestado através da sua vida? Quanto mais você for pelo Caminho Estreito, mais Sua vida se manifestará através de você. Acima de tudo, esteja determinado a conhecê-Lo e você o conhecerá.

Day 71

Freed by the Truth

John 8:31–32 (NKJV) Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Following the commandment to love one another as Christ loved us is true abiding and the mark of a disciple. As we abide in Christ we become increasingly aware of His personality (His nature, temperament, traits, behavior) and in that way, we come to know the Truth.   As we walk in the light of the Truth our temperament, our behavior, our traits, our nature changes from being self-centered to the love nature of Christ. We are set free from the deceptions of sin, the cares of this world, the pride of life, the lust of the flesh, the deceptions of religion, worldly wisdom, in other words we are being molded into the image of Christ!

1 Corinthians 14:1 (AMP) EAGERLY PURSUE and seek to acquire [this] love [make it your aim, your great quest]... Take Paul’s advice and make love (God is love) the great quest of your life.

Liberto pela verdade

João 8: 31-32 (ACF) Jesus dizia, pois, aos judeus que criam nele: Se vós permanecerdes na minha palavra, verdadeiramente sereis meus discípulos; E conhecereis a verdade, e a verdade vos libertará.

Seguir o mandamento de amar uns aos outros como Cristo nos amou é a verdadeira permanência e a marca de um discípulo. Ao permanecemos em Cristo, nos tornamos cada vez mais conscientes de sua personalidade (sua natureza, temperamento, traços, comportamento) e, dessa forma, nós vamos a conhecer a verdade. À medida que caminhamos na luz da verdade, nosso temperamento, nosso comportamento, nossos traços, nossa natureza muda de ser egocêntrico à natureza do amor de Cristo. Estamos livres das enganações do pecado, dos cuidados deste mundo, do orgulho da vida, da luxúria da carne, das enganações da religião, da sabedoria mundana, em outras palavras, estaremos sendo moldados à imagem de Cristo!

1 Coríntios 14:1 (AMP) BUSQUE ARDENTEMENTE e procure adquirir o (este) amor (torne esse seu objetivo, sua grande busca)...  Receba o conselho de Paulo e faça do amor (Deus é amor) a grande busca de sua vida.

Day 70

What is the Truth?

John 14:6 (NKJV) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

2 Timothy 3:13 (NKJV) But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

Paul, in his second letter to Timothy, described the deceptive days we are currently living in. Evil men, imposters in every way, are using every information source to spread their lies against one another. With accusations like sexual misconduct, bribery, misuse of power, racism, and homophobia, being used to convince people Socialism is better than Democracy or one politician is more qualified than the other, or one race has more privilege than another, who can know the truth?

Who is the Truth, not what is the truth, is the conflict of the ages!  All the accusations and lies are distractive deceptions designed to keep people focused on worldly issues and far away from a relationship with Christ!

Ending Thoughts

Are you caught up in the distractions that are deceiving many? Have you wandered from the Narrow Path that leads to a relationship with God? If so, cast down those worldly cares and replace them with scriptures and press on to knowing Him!

Dia 70

Qual é a verdade?

João 14:6 (ACF) Disse-lhe Jesus: Eu sou o caminho, e a verdade e a vida; ninguém vem ao Pai, senão por mim.

2 Timóteo 3:13 (ACF) Mas os homens maus e enganadores irão de mal para pior, enganando e sendo enganados.

Paulo, em sua segunda carta a Timóteo, descreveu os dias enganosos em que estamos vivemos atualmente. Homens maus, impostores em todos os sentidos, estão usando todas as fontes de informações para espalhar suas mentiras uns contra os outros. Com acusações como má conduta sexual, suborno, uso indevido de poder, racismo e homofobia, sendo usado para convencer as pessoas que o socialismo é melhor do que a democracia ou um político é mais qualificado do que o outro, ou uma raça tem mais privilégio do que outro, quem pode saber a verdade?

Quem é a verdade, não o que é a verdade, é o conflito das eras! Todas as acusações e mentiras são decepções distrativas destinadas a manter as pessoas focadas em questões mundanas e longe de um relacionamento com Cristo!

Concluindo a meditação

Você está preso nas distrações que estão enganando muitos? Você se desviou do caminho estreito que leva a um relacionamento com Deus? Se assim for, derrube essas preocupações mundanas e substitua-as pelas escrituras e esforça-se para conhecê-Lo!

Day 69

Food

John 4:31–34 (NKJV) In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.” But He said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.” Therefore the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?” Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.

In this story, the disciples had left Jesus resting at a well and went off to purchase food. When they returned and urged Jesus to eat He told them he had food they knew nothing about.

Many believe attending church, tithing, studying the bible, and taking communion is sufficient to complete the work God has started in them. These activities are all good however, we must not slip into thinking we are fulfilling the will of God in their performance, because It is not church activities but doing the will of the Father that feeds us spiritually.  

Like Jesus Christ, our Savior, our spiritual food comes from doing the will of the Father which leads us into relationship with Him. As Christ is formed in us our love for God and our compassion for the lost increases and causes us to tell someone about Jesus and by which we are nourished.

Ending Thoughts

Our activities should stem from the will of God and not the will of man.  Are you caught up in church activities? Are you fulfilling the will of God or the will of man?

Alimento

João 4:31-34 (ACF) E entretanto os seus discípulos lhe rogaram, dizendo: Rabi, come. Ele, porém, lhes disse: Uma comida tenho para comer, que vós não conheceis. Então os discípulos diziam uns aos outros: Trouxe-lhe, porventura, alguém algo de comer? Jesus disse-lhes: A minha comida é fazer a vontade daquele que me enviou, e realizar a sua obra.

Nesta história, os discípulos deixaram Jesus descansando próximo a um poço e saíram para comprar comida. Quando eles voltaram rogaram à Jesus para Ele comer, Ele respondeu: “Uma comida tenho para comer, que vós não conheceis”.

Muitos acreditam que frequentar a igreja, dizimar, estudar a Bíblia, e participar da Ceia é o suficiente para Deus completar a obra que Ele começou neles. Estas atividades são todas boas, no entanto, não devemos deslizar em pensar que estamos cumprindo a vontade de Deus em fazer estas coisas, porque não é participar das atividades da igreja e sim fazer a vontade do Pai Celestial que nos alimenta espiritualmente.

A exemplo de Jesus Cristo, nosso Salvador, nosso alimento espiritual, Ele cumpriu  a vontade do Pai e nos conduz ao relacionamento com Ele. Quando Cristo é formado em nós, nasce em nós o amor à Deus e passamos a ter compaixão pelos perdidos, onde passamos a compartilhar com as pessoas a respeito de Jesus o qual é a nossa fonte de alimento espiritual.

Concluindo a meditação

Nossas atividades devem derivar da vontade de Deus e não da vontade do homem. Você está preso nas atividades da igreja? Você está cumprindo a vontade de Deus ou a vontade do homem?

Day 68

Eternal Life

John 17:1–3 (AMP), WHEN JESUS had spoken these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, Father, the hour has come. Glorify and exalt and honor and magnify Your Son, so that Your Son may glorify and extol and honor and magnify You. [Just as] You have granted Him power and authority over all flesh (all humankind), [now glorify Him] so that He may give eternal life to all whom You have given Him. And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent.

The Narrow Path to Relationship with God is the path to eternal life. As we travel along this path of obedience Jesus uses the circumstances we face to mold us into His image and reveal Himself and Father to us.

Jesus desires to reveal Himself and give you eternal life. He is not waiting until you are good enough to reveal Himself. The sacrifice of His blood on the cross makes those that receive Him as Lord and Savior good enough!  Jesus did it all on the cross and even sent Holy Spirit to help and guide us into an eternal life-giving relationship.

Our part is to simply to pray and obey the commandment to love and He will do the rest.

Don’t let fear keep you from knowing God. It is His great pleasure to bring you into relationship with Him.

Vida Eterna

João 17: 1-3 (AMP) Jesus falou assim e, levantando seus olhos ao céu, e disse: Pai, é chegada a hora; glorifica a teu Filho, para que também o teu Filho te glorifique a ti; Assim como lhe deste poder sobre toda a carne (toda humanidade), (agora para glorificar à Ele) para que dê a vida eterna a todos quantos lhe deste. E a vida eterna é esta: que te conheçam (para discernir, reconhecer, se tomar familiarizar e aceitar), a ti só, por único Deus verdadeiro, e a Jesus Cristo (O Ungido, o Messias), a quem enviaste.

O caminho estreito para o relacionamento com Deus é o caminho para a vida eterna. Ao viajarmos por esse caminho de obediência, Jesus usa as circunstâncias que enfrentamos para moldar-nos à sua imagem e revelar-nos a si e ao pai.

Jesus deseja revelar-se e dar-lhe a vida eterna. Ele não está esperando até que você seja bom o suficiente para se revelar. O sacrifício do sangue de Jesus derramado Cruz faz com que aqueles que O recebem como Senhor e Salvador, e reconhecem esse sacrifício, recebam a vida eterna. Jesus fez tudo na Cruz e até enviou o Espírito Santo para ajudar-nos e guiar-nos para a vida eterna. Nossa parte é simplesmente orar e obedecer ao mandamento de amar e ele fará o resto.

Conclusão da meditação

Não deixe que o medo o mantenha longe de conhecer Deus. É seu grande prazer trazê-lo para um relacionamento com ele.

Day 67

Who Am I? Who are You?

Exodus 3:9–12 (NKJV) Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” So He said, “I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.” 

Confronted with the thought of going back to Egypt, the very land he ran for his life from, Moses became fearful and immediately asked, “Who, am I?”  When God told him not to worry He would be with him, Moses asked in an indirect question, “Who, are you?” Can you imagine Moses’ thinking, “You want me to go to Egypt where Pharaoh seeks to kill me, speak to a people that will probably not believe me, and tell Pharaoh to release his slaves? I can’t do that. That is impossible, You, better find someone more capable.”

It is a wonderful thing to receive Christ as Lord and Savior and be Born Again. However, when faced with the requirement of picking up the cross and denying self, the same reasoning arises. “What do you want me to do? And Who are you? That’s impossible there must be an easier way.” 

After Moses exhausted all his excuses and agreed to go, his journey from knowing about God and having a relationship with Him began. Moses took a step of obedience that led him into a deep relationship with God and molded him into a leader of God’s people. Perhaps you are facing what looks like an impossible assignment. Fear not, Jesus Christ will be with you. Take that first step of obedience and press on into a deep relationship with Him.

Ending Thought

Knowing of God and having a relationship with Him are very different. Our first step into relationship starts with taking up our cross, forgiving those that have offended us and repenting of our unforgiveness. Take the first step beloved and fear not God will be with you.

Quem sou eu? Quem é Você?

Êxodo 3: 9–12 (NKJV) Agora, pois, eis que o clamor dos filhos de Israel veio a mim, e também tenho visto a opressão com que os egípcios os oprimem. Vem agora, pois, e eu te enviarei a Faraó, para que tire do Egito o meu povo, os filhos de Israel. Moisés, porém, disse a Deus: Quem sou eu, que vá a Faraó e tire do Egito os filhos de Israel? Então Ele disse: “Eu certamente estarei com você. E isto te será por sinal de que eu te enviei: Quando houveres tirado este povo do Egito, servireis a Deus neste monte.

Confrontado com o pensamento de voltar para o Egito, a mesma terra que ele correu para salvar a sua vida, Moisés tornou-se medroso e imediatamente perguntou: "Quem sou eu?" Quando Deus lhe disse para não se preocupar porque Ele estaria com ele, Moisés fez uma pergunta indireta, "Quem é você?" Você pode imaginar o pensamento de Moisés: "Você quer que eu vá para o Egito onde o Faraó quer me matar, fale para um povo que provavelmente não acreditará em mim e diga ao faraó para libertar escravos? Eu não posso fazer isso. Isso é impossível, você, melhor encontrar alguém mais capaz.

É maravilhoso receber a Cristo como Senhor e Salvador e nascer de novo. No entanto, quando confrontado com a exigência de pegar a cruz e negar a si mesmo, surge o mesmo raciocínio. "O que você quer que eu faça? E quem é você? Isso é impossível, deve haver um jeito mais fácil.

Depois que Moisés esgotou todas as suas desculpas e concordou em partir, sua jornada de conhecer Deus e ter um relacionamento com Ele começou. Moisés deu um passo de obediência que o levou a um profundo relacionamento com Deus e o moldou em um líder do povo de Deus.

Talvez você esteja enfrentando o que parece ser uma atribuição impossível. Não tenha medo, Jesus Cristo estará com você. Tome esse primeiro passo de obediência e pressione em um profundo relacionamento com ele.

Concluindo a meditação

O conhecimento de Deus e o relacionamento com Ele são muito diferentes. Nosso primeiro passo para o relacionamento começa com a tomada da nossa cruz, perdoando aqueles que nos ofenderam e se arrependendo de nossa falta de perdão. Dê o primeiro passo amado e não tema que Deus esteja com você.

Friends

James 2:23 (AMP) And [so] the Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed in (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on) God, and this was accounted to him as righteousness (as conformity to God’s will in thought and deed), and he was called God’s friend.

2 Chronicles 20:7 (NKJV) Are You not our God, who drove out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel, and gave it to the descendants of Abraham Your friend forever?

Friends in today’s society are often people we have shallow relationships with. We know who they project to be on the surface but we never really know their hearts. However, when God called Abram His friend, it wasn’t because He had a surface relationship with an acquaintance, it was because they had a covenant relationship.

Proverbs 18:24 (NKJV) A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

The friend that sticks closer than a brother is a covenant partner. Covenant partners have committed their all their resources and their lives to each other and subsequently they come to know each other deeply.

Moses knew and was known by God! There were no secrets between them. Of course, God knows everyone deeply, but only those in covenant with Him come to know Him deeply. And we through our covenant relationship with Jesus Christ are no long called servants but friends.  

John 15:15 (AMP) I do not call you servants (slaves) any longer, for the servant does not know what his master is doing (working out). But I have called you My friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from My Father. [I have revealed to you everything that I have learned from Him.]

Jesus, in revealing everything He heard from Father was revealing Himself as well as His Father. Remember Jesus told the disciples if you have seen me you have seen the Father. When Jesus becomes your Lord and Savior you enter into a covenant relationship and become His Friend. Since we are His Friends we can expect to become deeply acquainted with Him.

"A friend should bear his friend's infirmities" [William Shakespeare Julius Caesar]
"The belongings of friends are common" [Aristotle]

Even Shakespeare and Aristotle had a grasp on what it meant to be real friends. Do you? Are you able to bear your heart to the Lord? And will you allow Him to show you His?

Amigos

Tiago 2:23 (AMP) E [assim] se cumpriu a Escritura que diz: Abraão creu em (aderiu, confiou e confiou em) Deus, e isso lhe foi considerado justiça em pensamento e ação), e ele foi chamado amigo de Deus.

2 Crônicas 20: 7 (NKJV) Você não é o nosso Deus, que expulsou os habitantes desta terra diante do Teu povo de Israel, e deu para os descendentes de Abraão Seu amigo para sempre?

Amigos na sociedade de hoje são muitas vezes pessoas com relações superficiais. Sabemos que eles projetam estar na superfície, mas nunca conhecemos seus corações. No entanto, quando Deus chamou Abrão de Seu amigo, não foi porque Ele teve uma relação superficial com um conhecido, foi porque eles tinham um relacionamento de aliança.

Provérbios 18:24 (NKJV) Um homem que tem amigos deve ser amigável, Mas há um amigo que fica mais perto do que um irmão. 

O amigo que fica mais perto do que um irmão é um parceiro de aliança. Parceiros do pacto comprometeram todos os seus recursos e suas vidas uns com os outros e, posteriormente, eles se conhecem profundamente.

Moisés era notado e conhecido por Deus! Não havia segredos entre eles. Naturalmente, Deus conhece a todos profundamente, mas somente aqueles em aliança com Ele começam a conhecê-lo profundamente. E nós, através do nosso relacionamento de aliança com Jesus Cristo, somos chamados por muito tempo servos, mas amigos.

João 15:15 (AMP) Eu não os chamo de servos (escravos) por mais tempo, pois o servo não sabe o que seu mestre está fazendo (trabalhando). Mas eu chamei vocês meus amigos, porque eu lhes dei a conhecer tudo o que ouvi de Meu Pai. [Eu revelei tudo o que aprendi com ele.]

Jesus, ao revelar tudo o que ouviu do Pai, revelou-se a si mesmo e ao Pai. Lembre-se de que Jesus disse aos discípulos se você viu o Pai. Quando Jesus se torna seu Senhor e Salvador, você entra em um relacionamento de aliança e se torna seu amigo. Já que somos seus amigos, podemos esperar nos familiarizar com ele.

Concluindo a meditação

"Um amigo deve suportar as fraquezas do amigo" [William Shakespeare Júlio César] "Os pertences dos amigos são comuns" [Aristóteles]. 

Até mesmo Shakespeare e Aristóteles tinham uma noção do que significava ser amigos de verdade. E você? Você é capaz de levar seu coração ao Senhor? E você permitirá que Ele lhe mostre a Sua?

Four Responses

Matthew 13:18–23 (NKJV) “Therefore hear the parable of the sower: When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”

In this parable, the four types of soil represent four types of people who hear the word of the kingdom and responded according to the condition of their heart.

The person by the side of the road had no interest in understanding what he heard and had the word stolen by the devil. The person with stony places (hardened heart) received the word with joy and endured for a season. But when persecution arose this person took offense, broke covenant and fell away. The third person received the word and perhaps agreed with it but failed to live accordingly and the cares of the world soon choked out the word and he became unfruitful and according to John 15 verse 2 was cut from the vine. The fourth person received the word, understood it, and brought forth much fruit to the glory of God.

Ending Thought

The fruit that the word produces are the virtues of Jesus such as; love, joy, patience, longsuffering, kindness, and faith. Are you bringing forth fruit or are the cares of this world making you unfruitful?

Mateus 13:18–23 (NKJV) “Portanto ouve a parábola do semeador: Quando alguém ouve a palavra do reino e não a entende, então o iníquo vem e arrebata o que foi semeado no seu coração. Este é aquele que recebeu a semente no caminho. Mas aquele que recebeu a semente em lugares pedregosos, este é o que ouve a palavra e a recebe imediatamente com alegria; mas ele não tem raiz em si mesmo, mas permanece apenas por um tempo. Para quando tribulação ou perseguição surge por causa da palavra, imediatamente ele tropeça. Ora, aquele que foi semeado entre os espinhos, aquele que ouve a palavra, e as preocupações deste mundo, e o engano das riquezas, sufocam a palavra, e ele se torna infrutífero. Mas o que foi semeado em boa terra é aquele que ouve e entende a palavra, que produz frutos e produz: uns cem, sessenta, outros trinta ”.

Nesta parábola, os quatro tipos de solo representam quatro tipos de pessoas que ouvem a palavra do reino e respondem de acordo com a condição do seu coração.

A pessoa ao lado da estrada não tinha interesse em entender o que ele ouviu e teve a palavra roubada pelo diabo. A pessoa com lugares pedregosos (coração endurecido) recebeu a palavra com alegria e durou por uma temporada. Mas quando a perseguição surgiu essa pessoa se ofendeu, quebrou o pacto e se afastou. A terceira pessoa recebeu a palavra e talvez concordou com ela, mas não conseguiu viver em conformidade e os cuidados do mundo logo sufocaram a palavra e ele se tornou infrutífero e, de acordo com João 15, o verso 2 foi cortado da videira. A quarta pessoa recebeu a palavra, compreendeu-a e produziu muitos frutos para a glória de Deus.

Concluindo a meditação

O fruto que a palavra produz são as virtudes de Jesus tais como; amor, alegria, paciência, longanimidade, bondade e fé. Você está produzindo frutos ou os cuidados deste mundo estão te deixando infrutíferos?

Times of Difficulty

2 Timothy chapter three describes the human behavior that will be difficult for Christians to live with in the last days.

2 Timothy 3:1–4 (ESV) But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.

If you pause a moment from your busy daily routine and consider what is taking place in society, you will clearly see we are in the last days. For example, consider the politicians in the news. Many of them slander and are being slandered, many are heartless and consumed with arrogance and are definitely not lovers of God. However, this behavior is not reserved only for political figures it is being exhibited in all areas of society.

Paul’s warning has no effect on people that live as Godless lovers of self.  But, to those of us that are following the Narrow Path of Obedience leading to a relationship with God it is important that we heed Paul’s warning and realize that association with Godless behavior can lead you into Godless behavior and lead you off the Narrow Path.

Tempos Trabalhosos

2 Timóteo capítulo três descreve o comportamento humano que será difícil para os cristãos viverem nos últimos dias.

2 Timóteo 3: 1–4 (ESV) Mas entenda isto, que nos últimos dias virão tempos de dificuldade. Pois as pessoas serão amantes de si mesmas, amantes do dinheiro, orgulhosas, arrogantes, abusivas, desobedientes a seus pais, ingratas, profanas, impiedosas, insalubres, caluniosas, sem autodomínio, brutais, não amando o bem, traiçoeiras, imprudentes inchados de vaidade, amantes do prazer e não amantes de Deus.

Se você parar um momento da sua rotina diária e considerar o que está acontecendo na sociedade, verá claramente que estamos nos últimos dias. Por exemplo, considere os políticos nas notícias. Muitos deles caluniam e estão sendo difamados, muitos são impiedosos e consumidos com arrogância e definitivamente não são amantes de Deus.

No entanto, esse comportamento não é reservado apenas para figuras políticas que estão sendo exibidas em todas as áreas da sociedade.

A advertência de Paulo não tem efeito sobre as pessoas que vivem como amantes de si mesmas sem Deus. Mas, para aqueles de nós que estão seguindo o Caminho Estreito da Obediência levando a um relacionamento com Deus, é importante que atendamos ao aviso de Paulo e percebamos que a associação com o comportamento sem Deus pode levar você a um comportamento sem Deus e levá-lo para fora do Caminho Estreito.

Day 63

He Learned Obedience

Hebrews 5:8 (ESV) Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered.

Mark 14:36 (NKJV) And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.”

Hebrews 5:7 (AMP) In the days of His flesh [Jesus] offered up definite, special petitions [for that which He not only wanted but needed] and supplications with strong crying and tears to Him Who was [always] able to save Him [out] from death, and He was heard because of His reverence toward God [His godly fear, His piety, in that He shrank from the horrors of separation from the bright presence of the Father].

In the Garden of Gethsemane, the final and most trying temptations to disobey His Father had begun. Jesus had learned obedience by facing the temptations of pride, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, but now his soul was crushed with the possibility of being separated from the Father.

The physical beatings, the abandonment by His disciples, the rejections from those He healed, loved, and fed, could not shake Jesus. But now He would become the sacrificial lamb of God sacrifice for all mankind and be separated from His Father. Hence, the agony, the horrific struggle, between obedience and disobedience ensued.

Philippians 2:8 (AMP) And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!

Thank you, Jesus, for humbling yourself and taking your obedience to the extremes of death. You won! And we through you will win as well.

1 Peter 1:14 (AMP) [Live] as children of obedience [to God]; do not conform yourselves to the evil desires [that governed you] in your former ignorance [when you did not know the requirements of the Gospel].

When we humble ourselves, by choosing to obey God we are transformed into the image of Jesus Christ and become children of obedience.

Are you able to humble yourself in obedience to God’s word? When you find it difficult to obey call upon Holy Spirit to help and He will.

Ele aprendeu a obediência

Hebreus 5: 8 (ESV) Embora ele fosse um filho, ele aprendeu a obediência através do que ele sofreu.

Marcos 14:36 ​​(NKJV) E ele disse: “Abba, Pai, todas as coisas são possíveis para você. Tome este copo longe de mim; no entanto, não o que eu quero, mas o que você quiser.

Hebreus 5: 7 (AMP) Nos dias da Sua carne [Jesus] ofereceu petições específicas e definitivas [para aquilo que Ele não somente queria, mas necessitava] e súplicas com forte clamor e lágrimas àquele que era [sempre] capaz de livrai-o da morte, e ele foi ouvido por causa de sua reverência para com Deus [Seu temor piedoso, Sua piedade, em que Ele recuou dos horrores da separação da brilhante presença do Pai].

No Jardim do Getsêmani, as tentações finais e mais tentadoras de desobedecer a Seu Pai haviam começado. Jesus havia aprendido a obediência enfrentando as tentações do orgulho, a luxúria da carne e a concupiscência dos olhos, mas agora sua alma foi esmagada pela possibilidade de ser separado do Pai.

Os espancamentos físicos, o abandono por parte de Seus discípulos, as rejeições daqueles que Ele curou, amou e alimentou, não conseguiram abalar Jesus. Mas agora Ele se tornaria o cordeiro sacrificial do sacrifício de Deus para toda a humanidade e seria separado de Seu Pai. Assim, a agonia, a luta horrível entre a obediência e a desobediência se seguiu.

Filipenses 2: 8 (AMP) E depois que Ele apareceu em forma humana, Ele se rebaixou e se humilhou [ainda mais] e levou Sua obediência ao extremo da morte, até mesmo a morte da cruz!

Obrigado, Jesus, por se humilhar e levar sua obediência aos extremos da morte. Você ganhou! E através de você vai ganhar também.

1 Pedro 1:14 (AMP) [Viva] como filhos da obediência [a Deus]; não te conformes com os maus desejos [que te governaram] na tua antiga ignorância [quando não conhecias as exigências do Evangelho].

Quando nos humilhamos, ao optar por obedecer a Deus, somos transformados na imagem de Jesus Cristo e nos tornamos filhos da obediência.

Você é capaz de se humilhar em obediência à palavra de Deus? Quando você acha difícil obedecer, invoque o Espírito Santo para ajudar e Ele o fará.

Controlled by Love

2 Corinthians 5:12–15 (AMP) We are not commending ourselves to you again, but we are providing you with an occasion and incentive to be [rightfully] proud of us, so that you may have a reply for those who pride themselves on surface appearances [on the virtues they only appear to have], although their heart is devoid of them. For if we are beside ourselves [mad, as some say], it is for God and concerns Him; if we are in our right mind, it is for your benefit, For the love of Christ controls and urges and impels us, because we are of the opinion and conviction that [if] One died for all, then all died; And He died for all, so that all those who live might live no longer to and for themselves, but to and for Him Who died and was raised again for their sake.   

Galatians 2:20 (NLT)  My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.

Paul in his letter to the Corinthians and the Galatians declares that he is no longer living to himself or for his benefit. Whether In his right mind or out of his mind, Paul’s actions are controlled by the love of Christ which causes Paul to live for others.

Unlike Paul, many modern believers have fallen into the trap of believing Father God is a butler bound to provide everything their hearts desire when they ask in the Name of Jesus. Of  course our Father wants to bless us but His priority is molding us inwardly into the image of Jesus Christ.  

The Narrow Path is where we exchange our selfish life for the life of Christ. Each blow to the self-life is not without suffering, for the battle between obedience and disobedience is real. The body desires to rule and actually feels pain and suffers when it is denied. However Holy Spirit is our Comforter and through His power we can subdue the flesh and die to self. If we continue we will one day be able to say, “it is no longer I that lives but Christ that lives in me!”

If you are following the Narrow Path in pursuit of a relationship with Christ stay on it. If you are not, ask yourself why not? And be truthful with your answer.
