Producing
Fruit
John 15:7-8 (AMP) If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and
continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done
for you. 8 When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and
glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of
Mine.
The farmer four miles
down the road from us owns the corn field behind our house. Every Spring, I am
awaked early in the morning by the roar from the powerful tractor he uses to
plow, plant, and fertilize the field. With the seed in the ground, except for
occasionally returning to spay weed killer and fertilizer the farmer leaves the
seed to flourish. As long as the seed
remains in the ground it will sprout grow into a corn plant which will produce
many ears of corn at maturity, causing the farmer to
rejoice in receiving the fruits of his labor.
Similar to a seed planted in a field the
incorruptible seed of God (the Word) has been planted in those that receive
Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
As we take up our cross of obedience and die
to our selfish desires, the fruit that the Spirit of God produces, (love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,
self-control) begins to come forth in us. As we bear more of the virtues of the
vine we are planted in our Father is glorified and honored.
When we remain in Christ the virtues of
Christ are molded in us which creates in us a desire to ask God on the behalf
of others and not ourselves. And when we ask with a selfless heart that Christ
asked in we receive all that we ask for.

Thoughts
Are
the fruits of the incorruptible seed of God coming forth from you? The Holy
Spirit will help you identify areas in your life that are preventing Him from
producing His fruit. When He does repent and ask Him to help you change and He
will.
