Day 60
The Fear of The Lord is
Proverbs 8:13 (NKJV) The
fear of the Lord is to hate
evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.
Psalm 111:10 (NKJV) The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A
good understanding have all those who do His commandments.
His praise endures forever.
Proverbs 1:7 (NKJV) The fear of the Lord is the beginning of
knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 14:27 (NKJV) The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, To
turn one away from the snares of death.
Proverbs 15:33 (NKJV) The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom,
And before honor is humility.
The Fear of the Lord is, hating evil,
the beginning of wisdom, the beginning of knowledge, a fountain of life, and
instruction of wisdom.
The spirit of fear and Godly fear are
very different. While the spirit of fear drives people to sin against God, fear
of breaking the covenant is the beginning of wisdom, knowledge, instruction,
and a fountain of life for Christians. Our first understanding of the Eternal
Love Covenant introduced us to the three parts of the covenant; the blessing,
the consequence, and the requirement.
Everybody wants to enjoy the blessings
of the covenant (John 15:7) but few understand the fear of breaking the
covenant in John 15:6, is the Fear of the Lord which brings with it the
beginning of wisdom, knowledge, and instruction, all of which come from the
fountain of life. John 15:6 (NKJV) If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch
and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and
they are burned.
The closer our relationship with Jesus
Christ and our Father the more repulsive sin becomes to us. We can’t love God
and love sin at the same time. Before salvation we yielded to sin and it took
us further away from God and deeper into lawlessness. But inside the Narrow
Gate we live on the Narrow Path which takes us deeper into a relationship with
God through obedience.
Psalm 25:14 (NKJV) The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him,
And He will show them His covenant. As we live and move and have our being in
Jesus, the secret of the Lord is with us and He reveals His covenant and the
depths of His love toward us.
Ending thoughts
Continue to walk in the covenant.
Should you break the commandment to love repent quickly and walk on. He loves
you and desires to have a close relationship with you.
