Day 59
Paul’s Instruction to
the Corinthians
1 Corinthians
16:13–14 (NKJV) Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be
strong. Let all that you do be done with love.
Here are three points
from Paul’s instruction to the Corinthians that if followed will keep us on the
Narrow Path.
1)Watch or be alert
and stand guard against spiritual forces. One of the spiritual forces that we
must become aware of and guard our lives and children against is Humanism, which
is a system of values and beliefs that are opposed to the values and beliefs of
Christianity.
Humanists do not
believe in God but in scientific methods, such as the Theory of Evolution, to
explain the origin of man and the universe. Humanists advocate equality for homosexuals, gender
equality, a secular approach to divorce and remarriage, and environmental
protection.
All of these views
are being forced into our lives through the public-school system, our
universities, the news media, corporate America, the internet, and television.
Beware! What you watch and listen to could be tainted with a Humanistic view.
2) Stand fast in the
faith, be brave, and be strong. We must
be strong and stand firm in our belief of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and be
brave enough to speak out against false doctrines and humanistic views.
Humanist use words like tolerance and acceptance to intimidate people into
accepting their views. People that reject humanistic views are considered and
called intolerant bigots, or homophobes and you become an intolerant right wing
religious freak, if you believe Jesus is the only way to heaven. We have to be
strong and brave to stand firm in our faith against views like this.
3) Let all that you
do be done with love.
Proverbs 3:11–12
(NKJV) tells us; My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; For
whom the Lord loves He corrects, just
as a father the son in whom he delights.
True Godly love, is
concerned about a person’s physical and spiritual well-being. If a person is
hungry or naked love feed and clothe them. If a person is living a life style
against the teachings of Jesus Christ bring correction with gentleness and not
condemnation. Let your love for people and God be the motivation behind all
that you do.
