Day 56  

Led by Peace

Colossians 3:15 (AMP) And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ’s] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always].

                   

In our world, the cares of life are strong distractions that make it difficult to discern the voice of the Lord or His will when we are trying to make a decision. Of course, if the decision is a choice between obeying or breaking the commandment to love we already know His will and hopefully choose to obey the commandment. But, what about decisions that do not involve braking of keeping the covenant of just being led by Holy Spirit in our daily activities?

Here are the principle ways the Holy Spirit leads; through the Bible, with impressions, prophetic words, an audible voice, or with peace. Over the years, He has used all of these methods to lead me, but the majority of the time He has used impressions and peace.

For example, early in my walk with the Lord I decided to rent an apartment closer to the university I was attending. When moving day arrived I loaded my belongings, which included a round table top, into the bed of a pickup truck and drove toward my new apartment. Two miles from my new apartment I stopped for a red traffic light.  While I sat waiting for the traffic light to turn green, I had an impression that the round table top was going to roll out of the truck bed. Not knowing the Holy Spirit was trying to lead me, I brushed off the impression and when the light turned green I started through the intersection. Half way through the intersection the table top rolled off the truck and landed in the middle of the street. I pulled the truck through the intersection, stopped at the curb, and to the sound of honking horns and angry motorists, I retrieved the table top, that by then had been run over by several cars.

Although Holy Spirit can and will lead you with impressions ninety percent of the time He leads with peace. The Amplified bible tells us to, “let the peace of Christ act as an umpire in our hearts to settle all the questions that arise in our minds.”  Let’s use the traffic light to illustrate how you can be led by Christ’s peace.

A traffic light has a red light which requires us to stop, a yellow light tells us to use caution, and a green light signals us to drive on. When you want God’s will in making a decision, present the situation to the Lord, and ask Holy Spirit to guide you with His peace.  Confusion in your spirit is your signal to stop, do not go forward with the opportunity or plan. Peace in your soul is the green light to proceed with the opportunity or plan. The absence of confusion or peace is the yellow light of caution which means continue in prayer until you have peace or confusion in your soul.

As we grow in relationship to Father and Jesus, it becomes easier for us to discern the leading of the Holy Spirit. However, when someone ignores His leadings time after time, He stops trying to lead. If this is your case, repent and ask God to forgive you for ignoring Him and He will start leading again.

Use this simple example of a traffic light and prayer to discern Holy Spirit’s leading on the plans you make and the decisions you face.

Day 55 

Why God? (Joshua 7:6-7)

Joshua 7:6–7 (NKJV)  Then Joshua tore his clothes, and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of the Lord until evening, he and the elders of Israel; and they put dust on their heads. And Joshua said, “Alas, Lord God, why have You brought this people over the Jordan at all - to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? Oh, that we had been content, and dwelt on the other side of the Jordan!

After their initial victory at Jericho, Israel attacked Ai and sixty of their men were killed. Not understanding the reason for their defeat Joshua and the elders of Israel humbled themselves in the dirt and sought the Lord crying out, “Why God?”

Joshua 7:10–12 (NKJV) So the Lord said to Joshua: “Get up! Why do you lie thus on your face? Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them. For they have even taken some of the accursed things, and have both stolen and deceived; and they have also put it among their own stuff. Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they have become doomed to destruction. Neither will I be with you anymore, unless you destroy the accursed from among you.

Had Joshua sought the Lord before sending troops to Ai, Achan’s sin and violation of the covenant would have been uncovered, Achan and his family would have been destroyed and Israel would not have lost sixty men at Ai. The Lord God kept His part of the covenant by defeating Jericho and He expected Israel to keep their part by destroying everything. However, Achan did not take the Lord’s covenant seriously, consequently he and his family were destroyed. 

Like Joshua, “Why God”, often becomes the cry of our heart when we do not seek for His will in our lives. Many ask the Lord saying, “God you said, I could ask anything and it would be done for me.” Then they spew out the desires of their heart and charge on with their plan. They are not asking God for His will but to bless their mess. And when disaster strikes they cry “Why God”, “Why did You allow this to happen?” Disaster can and will be avoided when we ask God for His will in our lives and learn to follow His instruction, instead of asking God to bless our mess and charging on with our desires.

Have you ever cried out, “Why God” after something did not go the way you thought it should? Have you learned to ask the Lord for His will and not your desire?  Have you learned to follow His instructions? Stay on the Narrow Path and you will come to know Him and soon you will be able discern and follow His instructions.

Liderado pela paz

Colossenses 3:15 (AMP) E que a paz (harmonia da alma que vem) do governo de Cristo (aja como um árbitro continuamente) em seus corações [decidindo e resolvendo com determinação todas as questões que surgem em suas mentes, naquele estado pacífico] que como [membros de Cristo] um corpo você também foi chamado [para viver]. E seja grato (apreciativo), [louvar a Deus sempre].

Em nosso mundo, os cuidados da vida são fortes distrações que tornam difícil discernir a voz do Senhor ou Sua vontade quando estamos tentando tomar uma decisão. É claro que, se a decisão é uma escolha entre obedecer ou quebrar o mandamento de amar, já sabemos Sua vontade e esperamos escolher obedecer ao mandamento. Mas, e as decisões que não envolvem a frenagem de manter o pacto de apenas ser guiado pelo Espírito Santo em nossas atividades diárias?

Aqui estão as principais maneiras pelas quais o Espírito Santo conduz; através da Bíblia, com impressões, palavras proféticas, uma voz audível ou com paz. Ao longo dos anos, Ele usou todos esses métodos para me conduzir, mas na maior parte do tempo Ele usou impressões e paz.

Por exemplo, no início da minha caminhada com o Senhor, decidi alugar um apartamento mais perto da universidade que frequentava. Quando chegou o dia da mudança, carreguei meus pertences, que incluíam uma mesa redonda, na cama de uma picape e dirigi em direção ao meu novo apartamento. Duas milhas do meu novo apartamento parei para um semáforo vermelho. Enquanto eu estava sentado esperando o semáforo ficar verde, tive a impressão de que o tampo da mesa redonda ia sair da caçamba do caminhão. Não sabendo que o Espírito Santo estava tentando me levar, eu esqueci a impressão e quando a luz ficou verde eu comecei a atravessar o cruzamento. Na metade do cruzamento, o tampo da mesa saiu do caminhão e aterrissou no meio da rua. Puxei o caminhão pelo cruzamento, parei no meio-fio e, ao som de buzinas e motoristas irritados, peguei o tampo da mesa, que já estava atropelado por vários carros.

Embora o Espírito Santo possa lhe dar impressões e o leve com impressões noventa por cento do tempo, Ele lidera com paz. A Bíblia amplificada nos diz para: "deixar a paz de Cristo agir como um árbitro em nossos corações para resolver todas as questões que surgem em nossas mentes." Vamos usar o semáforo para ilustrar como você pode ser guiado pela paz de Cristo.

Um semáforo tem uma luz vermelha que nos obriga a parar, uma luz amarela nos diz para ter cuidado, e uma luz verde indica que devemos ligar. Quando você quer que a vontade de Deus tome uma decisão, apresente a situação ao Senhor e peça ao Espírito Santo para guiá-lo com a Sua paz. Confusão em seu espírito é o seu sinal para parar, não vá adiante com a oportunidade ou o plano. A paz em sua alma é a luz verde para prosseguir com a oportunidade ou o plano. A ausência de confusão ou paz é a luz amarela de cautela que significa continuar em oração até que você tenha paz ou confusão em sua alma.

À medida que crescemos em relação ao Pai e a Jesus, torna-se mais fácil discernir a direção do Espírito Santo. No entanto, quando alguém ignora Suas orientações vez após vez, Ele pára de tentar liderar. Se este é o seu caso, arrependa-se e peça a Deus para perdoá-lo por ignorá-lo e ele começará a liderar novamente.

Concluindo a meditação

Use este exemplo simples de um semáforo e uma oração para discernir o Espírito Santo sobre os planos que você faz e as decisões que você enfrenta.

Dia 55

Por que Deus? (Josué 7: 6-7)

Josué 7: 6–7 (NKJV) Então Josué rasgou as suas vestes, e prostrou-se com o rosto em terra perante a arca do Senhor, até a tarde, ele e os anciãos de Israel; e eles puseram pó sobre suas cabeças. E disse Josué: Ah! Senhor Deus! Por que, com efeito, fizeste passar este povo sobre o Jordão para nos entregar nas mãos dos amorreus para nos destruir? Oh, que nos contentamos e moramos do outro lado do Jordão!

Após sua vitória inicial em Jericó, Israel atacou Ai e sessenta de seus homens foram mortos. Não entendendo o motivo de sua derrota Josué e os anciãos de Israel se humilharam no chão e procuraram o Senhor clamando: “Por que Deus?”

Josué 7: 10–12 (NKJV) Então o Senhor disse a Josué: “Levanta-te! Por que você mente assim em seu rosto? Israel pecou e transgrediu o meu pacto, que lhes ordenei. Pois eles até pegaram algumas das coisas amaldiçoadas e roubaram e enganaram; e eles também colocaram entre suas próprias coisas. Por isso os filhos de Israel não podiam resistir diante de seus inimigos, mas viraram as costas diante de seus inimigos, porque se tornaram condenados à destruição. Nem mais vou estar com você, a menos que você destrua o amaldiçoado de entre você.

Se Josué tivesse procurado o Senhor antes de enviar tropas para Ai, o pecado de Acã e a violação da aliança teriam sido descobertos, Acã e sua família teriam sido destruídos e Israel não teria perdido sessenta homens em Ai. O Senhor Deus manteve Sua parte da aliança derrotando Jericó e esperou que Israel mantivesse sua parte destruindo tudo. No entanto, Acã não levou a aliança do Senhor a sério, consequentemente ele e sua família foram destruídos.

Como Josué, “Por que Deus”, muitas vezes se torna o clamor do nosso coração quando não buscamos a Sua vontade em nossas vidas. Muitos perguntam ao Senhor dizendo: “Deus, você disse, eu poderia pedir qualquer coisa e isso seria feito por mim”. Então, eles expelem os desejos de seus corações e prosseguem com seu plano. Eles não estão pedindo a Deus por Sua vontade, mas para abençoar sua bagunça. E quando ocorre um desastre, eles gritam “Por que Deus”, “Por que você permitiu que isso acontecesse?” O desastre pode e será evitado quando pedimos a Deus a Sua vontade em nossas vidas e aprendemos a seguir as Suas instruções, em vez de pedir a Deus que abençoe. nossa bagunça e cobrando com nossos desejos.

Concluindo a meditação

Alguma vez você já gritou: "Por que Deus" depois que algo não saiu do jeito que você pensou que deveria? Você aprendeu a pedir ao Senhor por Sua vontade e não a seu desejo? Você aprendeu a seguir as instruções de Deus? Permaneça no Caminho Estreito e você virá a conhecê-lo e logo poderá discernir e seguir Suas instruções.

Day 54

Complete Surrender, Joshua (5:13-14)

         

Joshua 1:7 (NKJV) "Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go."

When Joshua was chosen to lead Israel into the promised land the Lord told him he would prosper wherever he went if he would be strong and courageous and obey the Law of Moses.

In the New Covenant, just like Joshua, we to need strength and courage and obedience to prosper.

Joshua 5:13–14 (NKJV) And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “Are You for us or for our adversaries?” So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?”

At the beginning of chapter five Israel has crossed over the Jordan into the Promised Land and are camped near Jericho.  All the men that came out of Egypt had disobeyed the Lord and consequently died in the wilderness outside the Promised Land. To reestablish the covenant and a new beginning, the Lord instructed Joshua to circumcise the new generation of men that had been born in the wilderness.

One day after the celebration of Pentecost Joshua looks up and sees a Man (we know this is the Lord, because no angel would allow Joshua to worship him) standing opposite of him with his sword drawn. Joshua showing great courage asks the man are you for or against us? At the words “I am Commander of the army of the Lord” Joshua falls onto his face and begins to worship.

As you follow the commandment to love, that lights the narrow path, a time of complete surrender of your will to His will come. As you worship in His Holy presence Jesus may reveal an assignment to you which will require strength and courage.

Receiving an assignment from the Lord is precious when in His presence, but often becomes fright-full outside of His presence. However, have no fear, for when your strength is gone and your courage is failing, His power and his strength will supply the courage you need to obey and carry out your assignment.

Are you completely surrendered to Christ’s will? Are you ready for your next assignment or are you afraid of failing?

Dia 54

Rendição Completa, Josué (5: 13-14)

Josué 1: 7 (NKJV), "Sê forte e mui corajoso, para que observes fazer conforme toda a lei que meu servo Moisés determinou; não vire para a direita ou para a esquerda, para que você possa prosperar onde quer que vá."

Quando Josué foi escolhido para levar Israel à terra prometida, o Senhor lhe disse que ele iria prosperar onde quer que fosse, se ele fosse forte e corajoso e obedecesse à Lei de Moisés.

Na Nova Aliança, assim como Josué, precisamos de força, coragem e obediência para prosperar.

Josué 5: 13–14 (NVI) E sucedeu que, quando Josué estava em Jericó, levantou os olhos e olhou, e eis que um homem estava em pé diante dele, com a espada desembainhada na mão. E Josué foi até ele e disse-lhe: "Você é para nós ou para os nossos adversários?" Então ele disse: "Não, mas como Comandante do exército do Senhor eu vim agora." E Josué caiu em seu rosto para a terra e adorou, e disse-lhe: "O que meu Senhor diz ao seu servo?"

No início do capítulo cinco, Israel cruzou o Jordão para a Terra Prometida e está acampado perto de Jericó. Todos os homens que saíram do Egito haviam desobedecido ao Senhor e consequentemente morreram no deserto fora da Terra Prometida. Para restabelecer o convênio e um novo começo, o Senhor instruiu Josué a circuncidar a nova geração de homens nascidos no deserto.

Um dia após a celebração do Pentecostes, Josué olha para cima e vê um homem (sabemos que este é o Senhor, porque nenhum anjo permitiria que Josué o adorasse), em pé diante dele, com a espada desembainhada. Josué mostrando grande coragem pede ao homem que você é a favor ou contra nós? Com as palavras “Eu sou o comandante do exército do Senhor” Josué cai de cara no chão e começa a adorar.

Ao seguir o mandamento de amar, isso ilumina o caminho estreito, um tempo de completa entrega de sua vontade a Ele virá. Ao adorar em Sua santa presença, Jesus pode revelar uma designação que exigirá força e coragem.

Receber uma designação do Senhor é precioso quando em Sua presença, mas muitas vezes se torna aterrorizante fora de Sua presença. Entretanto, não tenha medo, pois quando sua força se for e sua coragem falhar, seu poder e sua força suprirão a coragem que você precisa para obedecer e realizar sua tarefa.

Você se rendeu completamente à vontade de Cristo? Você está pronto para a sua próxima missão ou tem medo de fracassar?

THE NARROW PATH TO RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD - DAY 53

Day 53

Vessels 2 Timothy 2:14-16, 2:19-21

2 Timothy 2:14–16 (NKJV)  ^“Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.”

Meaningless arguments over political party affiliation, church doctrines, scientific theories, and multiple other subjects divide and hurt those arguing as well as those that are listening. However, in the above passage Paul is focusing on irrelevant theories in the church that will not lead people into a deeper relationship with Christ. Paul encourages Timothy to remind the church to stick to principles of faith and love, which leads away from iniquity and prepares them to be useful vessels in God’s kingdom. 

2 Timothy 2:19–21 (NKJV)  ^"Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work."

Paul continues his instructions by urging Christians to depart from iniquity (in this case foolish and ignorant disputes) which cause strife, and focus on becoming a vessel of honor that can be used by the Lord Jesus.

On the Narrow Path to Relationship with God, Holy Spirit will reveal strongholds of senseless arguments that are not based upon the solid foundation of Faith and Love and hinder you from becoming a golden vessel of honor. When He does, repent and ask Him to help you seal this area with the proper words of faith and love.

Do you want to be a vessel of honor that is useful to God? Stay on the Narrow Path to Relationship with God and you will be a vessel of honor.

Vasos (2 Timóteo 2:14-16, 2:19-21)

2 Timóteo 2: 14–16 (NKJV) “Lembre-os destas coisas, acusando-os diante do Senhor de não se esforçarem pelas palavras sem lucro, para a ruína dos ouvintes. Seja diligente para se apresentar aprovado a Deus, um obreiro que não precisa se envergonhar, que maneja bem a palavra da verdade. Mas evita palavras tagareladas profanas e ociosas, porque aumentarão para mais iniquidade.

Argumentos sem sentido sobre filiação partidária, doutrinas da igreja, teorias científicas e vários outros assuntos dividem e prejudicam tanto os que estão discutindo quanto os que estão ouvindo. No entanto, na passagem acima, Paulo está se concentrando em teorias irrelevantes na igreja que não levarão as pessoas a um relacionamento mais profundo com Cristo. Paulo encoraja Timóteo a lembrar a igreja a se ater a princípios de fé e amor, que conduz longe da iniquidade e os prepara para serem vasos úteis no reino de Deus.

2 Timóteo 2: 19–21 (NKJV) "No entanto, o sólido fundamento de Deus permanece, tendo este selo: “O Senhor conhece os que são seus”, e “todos os que nomeiam o nome de Cristo se apartam da iniqüidade”. Mas numa casa grande há não apenas vasos de ouro e prata, mas também de madeira e barro, alguns para honra e outros para desonra. Portanto, se alguém se purificar deste último, será um vaso para honra, santificado e útil para o Mestre, preparado para toda boa obra."

Paulo continua suas instruções, exortando os cristãos a se afastarem da iniquidade (neste caso, disputas insensatas e ignorantes) que causam conflitos, e se concentram em se tornar um vaso de honra que pode ser usado pelo Senhor Jesus.

No Estreito Caminho para o Relacionamento com Deus, o Espírito Santo revelará fortalezas de argumentos sem sentido que não são baseados no fundamento sólido da Fé e do Amor e impedem que você se torne um vaso de honra dourado. Quando isso acontecer, arrependa-se e peça a Ele para ajudá-lo a selar essa área com as palavras corretas de fé e amor.

Concluindo a meditação

Você quer ser um vaso de honra que é útil para Deus? Permaneça no caminho estreito para o relacionamento com Deus e você será um vaso de honra.
