Day 87
What shall we say?
Romans 8:31–35 (NKJV) What
then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be
against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered
Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who
shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who
is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is
also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession
for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall
tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or
sword?
In verse 31 Paul asks the question, “If
God be for us who can be against us?” To help the reader understand the
goodness of God, Paul, like a defense attorney, presents his case based upon
how much God has done for us.
Surely since God has sacrificed Jesus,
His own Son on our behalf will He not freely give us all things? The value of
Jesus to Father God is measured in the love between them
which is perfect. Their Father-Son relationship has always existed in perfect
harmony because their attributes, their characteristic, their nature of love is
the same. Thus, by giving His most precious and prized possession, His Son,
Father has demonstrated there is nothing He will withhold from His redeemed
children.
What is a house, what is a car, what
is money or clothing or heath? Is there any material object beyond the Creators
ability to bring into your life? No surely not! Well what about health? Will
the Creator of all things, He Who formed Adam from dirt and Eve from Adam’s rib
now withhold His healing touch from you or not provide the necessities of this
life? Surely not! His desire is to give
you all things freely.
We thank God for all the material
provisions He so freely provides, but let’s not get twisted into thinking the
material provisions are God’s main purpose in sacrificing Jesus on our behalf.
God’s greatest gift, beyond salvation through Jesus Christ, is the restoration
of man’s love nature thereby enabling us to live in perfect harmony with Him.
2 Peter 1:3–4 (NKJV) as
His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and
godliness, through the
knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by
which have been given to us exceedingly
great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
It is by knowing Him that we are able
to engage His promises and become partakers of His divine nature.
Ending Thoughts
As you live your life on the Narrow
Path, day by day, your relationship with Jesus and Father increases. Day by
day, your love for Him activates and energizes your faith enabling you to
believe His promises and partake of His divine nature. Stay on the Narrow Path great days of
fellowship and blessings are surrounding you.
