Bless the Lord
Psalm 103:1–5 (NKJV) Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within
me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord,
O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns
you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
As a young man David knew God as a
faithful deliver but over the years he came to know Him as forgiving and kind,
loving and merciful, a healer, and a provider of good things. Knowing God like
this causes David to shout, “Bless the Lord Oh my soul, Bless the Lord!”
Unlike David our first impression of
the personalities of God (Jesus and our Father) are formed from our
relationship with the authority figures we grew up under. However, as we follow
the Narrow Path of obedience we grow in our relationship with God and realize
He is tender and compassionate, loving and kind, as well as forgiving and
faithful. The closer we draw to God the
more we realize He orders our steps, watches over us and sends His angels to
guard us from evil. And like David, this causes us to bless and praise the Lord
with everything in us for all He did and all He continues to do in our lives.

Thoughts
Just think about all the good that has
come your way since you came to Christ!
For example; Christ took the wrath of God upon Himself so you would
never have to face His wrath! That in itself is enough to make you shout, Bless
the Lord, Oh My Soul, Bless the Lord!
