Day 57
The Appointed Time
Galatians 4:1–5
(NKJV) Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not
differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians
and stewards until the time appointed by the father. Even so we, when we were
children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the
fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of
a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we
might receive the adoption as sons.
The chains that once
held us in slavery to the elements of a selfish nature, have been broken by God
through Jesus Christ. The time has come, beloved child of God, to grow up as
sons of God into the image of Jesus Christ.
When we focus our
lives around the commandment to love we are on the path that leads to an
eternal relationship with our Father and Jesus Christ His Son. The things and
cares of this world fade away as shadows in His presence and our desire to know
Him becomes our passion.
As we are transformed
inwardly into His very image our compassion for the lost, the sick, the broken
hearted, and those in-snared by the devil drives us to the Throne of Grace
crying “Father, help us for without You they will perish.”
Ending Thoughts
Along the Narrow Path
to Relationship with God, Holy Spirit will help us grow into mature sons as we
totally surrender our selfish will to our Father’s will. Are you on the path today? Are there areas in
your life that are not totally surrendered to God?
