Day 89
Arise and Shine
2 Timothy 3:1–5 (NKJV) But know this, that in the last days
perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of
money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful,
unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal,
despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather
than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from
such people turn away!
The above scriptures, while describing
people living in the perilous times of the last days, paints a descriptive
picture of the redeemed and the lost, the children of God and the devils crew.
Paul in his letter to Timothy lays out a description of the self-centered
carnal natured devil’s crowd, that claim to know God but deny Him in the way
they live their lives.
Conversely, Jesus in John 13:35 said
His disciples and easily identified by their love for one another.
There is a growing division, in our
society, between light and darkness, good and evil, the lost and the redeemed.
Truly it is time for the children of God to arise, and shine as Isaiah spoke of
Jerusalem in Isaiah 60:1–2 (NKJV) Arise, shine; For your light has come! And
the glory of the Lord is risen
upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the
people; But the Lord will arise
over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.
Ending
Thoughts
As you continue down the Narrow Path
that leads to a relationship with God, your light which is His glorious life
shines brighter and brighter through you. Stand up, be bold, share the love of
Christ with someone. The brightest lights are easier seen and received when the
darkness is the deepest.
