Day 64
Times of Difficulty
2 Timothy chapter three describes the
human behavior that will be difficult for Christians to live with in the last
days.
2 Timothy 3:1–4 (ESV) But
understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For
people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive,
disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable,
slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous,
reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.
If you pause a moment from your busy
daily routine and consider what is taking place in society, you will clearly
see we are in the last days. For example, consider the politicians in the news.
Many of them slander and are being slandered, many are heartless and consumed
with arrogance and are definitely not lovers of God. However, this behavior is
not reserved only for political figures it is being exhibited in all areas of
society.
Paul’s warning has no effect on people
that live as Godless lovers of self.
But, to those of us that are following the Narrow Path of Obedience
leading to a relationship with God it is important that we heed Paul’s warning
and realize that association with Godless behavior can lead you into Godless
behavior and lead you off the Narrow Path.
