Day 46
An Amazing Opportunity
Revelation 3:19–22 (NKJV) As
many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore, be zealous and repent. Behold,
I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I
will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I
will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My
Father on His throne.
At the end of His letter to the Laodiceans, Jesus
offers an incredible eternal opportunity not only to the Laodiceans but to all those
that overcome their love for the worlds possessions and their lukewarm,
halfhearted attitude toward Him. In other words, He is making an offer to
anyone that overcomes their selfish nature by pursuing and developing a
relationship with Him an opportunity to sit with Him on His throne.
This is not a campaign promise. This is not a
promise given by a mere human being! This is a promise given by the Lord of
Lords, the King of Kings, who has all authority over all that exists! How
baffling, how exceedingly great, how wonderfully perplexing, is the love shown
to us by God through Jesus Christ!
First, because He so loved the world, He sent
Jesus His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross as the sacrifice
for our sin. Secondly, He releases the measure of faith to those that hear the
message of the cross which opens their hearts to believe in Jesus and receive
Him as Savior! But wait, He was not finished! He then sent His Holy Spirit, to
give us access to His divine power that can stop the deeds of our flesh and to
teach us and mold us inwardly into the image of Jesus, the image of love. But
wait, He still was not finished! He now gives us an opportunity to sit on His
throne with Him!
Words
can scarcely express the greatness of our God and the splendor of the love, and
the amazing eternal opportunity He has given us through Jesus Christ.

Thoughts
Do you know a judge that would release you
from the sentence of your crime, and then provide the resources necessary for
you to become a judge and offer you an opportunity to have the same authority
as he has?
Stay
on the Narrow Path to Relationship with God.
