THE NARROW PATH TO RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD - DAY 77

by Rev. Robert John Cericola, Carroll, OH - EUA

Day 77

Looking to Jesus

Hebrews 12:2 (AMP) Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. [Ps. 110:1.]

What a Savior we have! He endured the shame of the cross and took God’s wrath for us! And became the Author and finisher of our Faith! Praise God dearly beloved He will accomplish that which He has started in you!

Through Holy Spirit, Jesus will direct our path, mold us into His image, perfect our love, and lead us into a trusting relationship with Himself and our Father. The result of our trusting relationship is the energizing and activation of the measure of faith we received at Salvation.

When the world seems to be caving in on you, Look to Jesus! When the finances are lacking, look to Jesus! When those you love mock you, Look to Jesus! Don’t focus on the problem, look to Jesus who will calm the storm and infuse you with faith to carry on!  All you have to do is stay on the narrow path by obeying the commandment to love and He will complete that which He started!

Ending Thoughts
Oh, Glory how wonderful, how marvelous, because of Jesus, faith to believe is available for all, eternal life is available to all!  Stay on the Narrow Path and enjoy your fellowship with Jesus and our Father! He will complete that which He has started in your life.

Concluindo a meditação

THE NARROW PATH TO RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD - DAY 76

by Rev. Robert John Cericola, Carroll, OH - EUA

Day 76

Drifting Away

Hebrews 2:1 (AMP) SINCE ALL this is true, we ought to pay much closer attention than ever to the truths that we have heard, lest in any way we drift past [them] and slip away.

In this scripture, the writer of Hebrews is cautioning believers to stay focused on the truths they had heard and not drift away into false teaching.

The word drifting reminds me of a story my brother, David, told me of an experience he and a friend had while fishing off a string of islands named the Florida Keys.

Because his boat was not equipped with navigational equipment he always fished within binocular range of the buildings along the shoreline. However, on this day he and his friend became so focused on fishing that they forgot about the shoreline, and floated out into a shipping channel well away from the safety of the shore line. They finally realized where they were when an oil tanker began blowing it’s horn to warn that their boat was in their path.

Disoriented and not knowing which direction would lead to shore they chose to drive the boat ten minutes in one direction, stop, and use the binoculars to search for the shore line. After several failed attempts at locating the shore the sun was now going down, and the with the gasoline tank close to empty they made one more desperate attempt to locate the shore and safety.

This time when they looked through the binoculars a dim light appeared in the distance. Is the light from another tanker or from the safety of the shore? Knowing this would be their final attempt and risking a night at sea with no lights they drove toward the light and found the shore line.

Trying to build a relationship with Christ outside the safety of the Narrow Path of obedience will leave us with many failed attempts, the sun going down, and our gas tanks almost empty. However, when we focus on living our lives according to Christ’s command of loving one another as He loved us, He becomes intimately involved in revealing Himself to us. He wants us to know Him and therefore reveals Himself along the Narrow Path.

Ending Thoughts
As you continue along your journey focus on knowing Jesus and He will help you grow deep in your relationship with Him. The difficulty comes only when through the cares of sustaining this life we lose focus on knowing Him.  Stay focused on knowing Him and He will do the rest.

Concluindo a meditação

THE NARROW PATH TO RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD - DAY 75

by Rev. Robert John Cericola, Carroll, OH - EUA

Day 75

Bless the Lord

Psalm 103:1–5 (NKJV) Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

As a young man David knew God as a faithful deliver but over the years he came to know Him as forgiving and kind, loving and merciful, a healer, and a provider of good things. Knowing God like this causes David to shout, “Bless the Lord Oh my soul, Bless the Lord!”

Unlike David our first impression of the personalities of God (Jesus and our Father) are formed from our relationship with the authority figures we grew up under. However, as we follow the Narrow Path of obedience we grow in our relationship with God and realize He is tender and compassionate, loving and kind, as well as forgiving and faithful.  The closer we draw to God the more we realize He orders our steps, watches over us and sends His angels to guard us from evil. And like David, this causes us to bless and praise the Lord with everything in us for all He did and all He continues to do in our lives.

Ending Thoughts
Just think about all the good that has come your way since you came to Christ!  For example; Christ took the wrath of God upon Himself so you would never have to face His wrath! That in itself is enough to make you shout, Bless the Lord, Oh My Soul, Bless the Lord!

Day 75

Concluindo a meditação

THE NARROW PATH TO RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD - DAY 74

by Rev. Robert John Cericola, Carroll, OH - EUA

Day 74

Idols of the Heart

Ezekiel 14:1–5 (AMP) THEN CAME certain of the elders of Israel to me and sat before me. And the word of the Lord came to me: Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts and put the stumbling block of their iniquity and guilt before their faces; should I permit Myself to be inquired of at all by them? Therefore speak to them and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Every man of the house of Israel who takes his idols [of self-will and unsubmissiveness] into his heart and puts the stumbling block of his iniquity [idols of silver and gold] before his face, and yet comes to the prophet [to inquire of him], I the Lord will answer him, answer him according to the multitude of his idols, That I may lay hold of the house of Israel in the thoughts of their own mind and heart, because they are all estranged from Me through their idols.

In this scripture, some of the elders of Israel came to Ezekiel with things in their heart (idols in their hearts) that they loved more than God. They did not come to God with a love in their hearts for His will in a matter; they came to Him wanting God to bless their selfish desires. The Lord’s answer would not be His will or His blessing, but what they wanted to hear from their desire (the idol of their heart) and it would bring destruction. Destruction would cause the elders to ask, “Why did this happen God after all you blessed it?”

Likewise, many Christians believing their desire is from God ask Him to bless their desire without asking Him if this is His desire for their lives. And when the plan doesn’t work out they come back to God asking, “Why did this happen God after all you blessed it?”

With that question comes a teachable moment in which the asker can learn the desire he or she had was not from God but was (self-willed) and it is best to ask God for His will rather than His blessing on their desire.

However, when you take up your cross to obey the commandment to love, self and selfish desires are crucified along the way. As we grow in relationship with Jesus our desires change from the cares and things of this life to knowing Him and wanting His will.

Ending Thoughts
Knowing Jesus brings contentment into our lives. Just stay on the Narrow Path to Relationship with God and as your relationship grows so will your contentment with this life.

Dia 74

Ídolos do Coração

Concluindo a meditação

THE NARROW PATH TO RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD - DAY 73

by Rev. Robert John Cericola, Carroll, OH - EUA

Day 73

Paths of Life

Psalm 25:4 (NKJV) “Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths.”

In life, there are many paths that one can follow. Some paths lead to ruin while other paths lead to increase and enhancement. Deciding which path will be the most prosperous for your life is a difficult task, unless you choose to allow the Lord to show you His path of life.

Psalm 16:11 (NKJV) You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Psalm 25:10 (NKJV) All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, To, such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.

Proverbs 3:6 (NKJV) In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

The Narrow Path that leads to relationship with God is the path of life. By following the commandment to love one another as He loved us, we acknowledge Him, and He directs us onto paths where we find fulfilment, increase, joy, mercy, and truth.

Ending Thoughts
When we choose the Narrow Path, we may encounter a few challenges along the way but ultimately this path leads us into His presence and eternal pleasures forevermore.

Caminhos da Vida
Salmo 25: 4 (AMP) Faze-me saber os teus caminhos, Senhor; ensina-me as tuas veredas.

Concluindo a meditação

THE NARROW PATH TO RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD - DAY 72

by Rev. Robert John Cericola, Carroll, OH - EUA

Day 72

The Glory of God

1 Corinthians 10:23 (NKJV) All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify.

1 Corinthians 10:31–33 (NKJV) Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God, just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

Paul in chapter 10 of his first letter to the Corinthians encourages us to be sensitive to others when there is a possibility of giving a misunderstanding or offense. At times, it is difficult to know when your words or actions may cause offense. In verse 31 Paul helps us to understand how to be sensitive when he instructed us to do all to the glory of God. We can obtain a better understanding of what this means by looking at Exodus chapter 33.

Moses in Exodus chapter 33 asked God to show him His glory; And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.” Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” But He said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.” And the Lord said, “Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen.” To show Moses His glory the Lord made His goodness pass before him and proclaimed the name of the Lord while allowing Moses to see his back side.

In the New Testament Jesus is the manifest glory of God and to do all things to the glory of God simply means allowing the virtues/the personality of Christ, to be manifest through our lives in all circumstances.

Show peace to the agitated, forgive-ness to those that offend, give hope to the hopeless, kindness to those that are unkind, patience in all, and love to the unlovable and be steadfast in faith.  Do all things to the glory of God, manifest Jesus!

Ending Thoughts
The glory of God is Jesus. Is he being manifested through your life? The farther you go on the Narrow Road the more His life will be manifest through you. Above all be determined to know Him and you will.

O CAMINHO ESTREITO PARA O RELACIONAMENTO COM DEUS - DIA 72

pelo Rev. Robert John Cericola, Carroll, OH - EUA

Dia 72

Concluindo a meditação

THE NARROW PATH TO RELATIONSHIP TO GOD - DAY 71

by Rev. Robert John Cericola, Carroll, OH - EUA

Day 71

Freed by the Truth

John 8:31–32 (NKJV) Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Following the commandment to love one another as Christ loved us is true abiding and the mark of a disciple. As we abide in Christ we become increasingly aware of His personality (His nature, temperament, traits, behavior) and in that way, we come to know the Truth.   As we walk in the light of the Truth our temperament, our behavior, our traits, our nature changes from being self-centered to the love nature of Christ. We are set free from the deceptions of sin, the cares of this world, the pride of life, the lust of the flesh, the deceptions of religion, worldly wisdom, in other words we are being molded into the image of Christ!

Ending Thoughts
1 Corinthians 14:1 (AMP) EAGERLY PURSUE and seek to acquire [this] love [make it your aim, your great quest]... Take Paul’s advice and make love (God is love) the great quest of your life.

O CAMINHO ESTREITO PARA O RELACIONAMENTO COM DEUS - DIA 71

Dia 71

Concluindo a meditação
