THE NARROW PATH TO RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD - DAY 54

by Rev. Robert John Cericola, Carroll, OH - EUA

Day 54

Complete Surrender, Joshua (5:13-14)

Joshua 1:7 (NKJV) "Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go."

When Joshua was chosen to lead Israel into the promised land the Lord told him he would prosper wherever he went if he would be strong and courageous and obey the Law of Moses.

In the New Covenant, just like Joshua, we to need strength and courage and obedience to prosper.

Joshua 5:13–14 (NKJV) And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “Are You for us or for our adversaries?” So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?”

At the beginning of chapter five Israel has crossed over the Jordan into the Promised Land and are camped near Jericho.  All the men that came out of Egypt had disobeyed the Lord and consequently died in the wilderness outside the Promised Land. To reestablish the covenant and a new beginning, the Lord instructed Joshua to circumcise the new generation of men that had been born in the wilderness.

One day after the celebration of Pentecost Joshua looks up and sees a Man (we know this is the Lord, because no angel would allow Joshua to worship him) standing opposite of him with his sword drawn. Joshua showing great courage asks the man are you for or against us? At the words “I am Commander of the army of the Lord” Joshua falls onto his face and begins to worship.

As you follow the commandment to love, that lights the narrow path, a time of complete surrender of your will to His will come. As you worship in His Holy presence Jesus may reveal an assignment to you which will require strength and courage.

Receiving an assignment from the Lord is precious when in His presence, but often becomes fright-full outside of His presence. However, have no fear, for when your strength is gone and your courage is failing, His power and his strength will supply the courage you need to obey and carry out your assignment.

Ending Thoughts
Are you completely surrendered to Christ’s will? Are you ready for your next assignment or are you afraid of failing?

Dia 54

Concluindo a meditação

Day 53

Vessels 2 Timothy 2:14-16, 2:19-21

2 Timothy 2:14–16 (NKJV)  “Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.”

Meaningless arguments over political party affiliation, church doctrines, scientific theories, and multiple other subjects divide and hurt those arguing as well as those that are listening. However, in the above passage Paul is focusing on irrelevant theories in the church that will not lead people into a deeper relationship with Christ. Paul encourages Timothy to remind the church to stick to principles of faith and love, which leads away from iniquity and prepares them to be useful vessels in God’s kingdom.

2 Timothy 2:19–21 (NKJV)  "Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work."

Paul continues his instructions by urging Christians to depart from iniquity (in this case foolish and ignorant disputes) which cause strife, and focus on becoming a vessel of honor that can be used by the Lord Jesus.

On the Narrow Path to Relationship with God, Holy Spirit will reveal strongholds of senseless arguments that are not based upon the solid foundation of Faith and Love and hinder you from becoming a golden vessel of honor. When He does, repent and ask Him to help you seal this area with the proper words of faith and love.

Ending Thoughts
Do you want to be a vessel of honor that is useful to God? Stay on the Narrow Path to Relationship with God and you will be a vessel of honor.

Concluindo a meditação

THE NARROW PATH TO RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD - DAY 52

by Rev. Robert John Cericola, Carroll, OH - EUA

Day 52

Fiery Trial

1 Peter 4:12 (NKJV)  Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you.

The potter that forms clay periodically examines his work. Upon examination, the potter makes corrections in the clay to bring it up to his design standards. Likewise, throughout your journey to knowing God, the molding process you will go through, has God ordered circumstances (fiery trials) that are intended to increase your trust (strengthen your faith) and knowledge of Him. Fiery trials start small and become larger as your trust in God increases. For example, let’s look at the life of David.

David the youngest son of Jesse, was approximately 10 to 15 years old when he was anointed by Samuel to replace Saul as the King of Israel.  In every season of David’s life, he walked through fiery trials that increased his faith and knowledge of God. His first recorded trial came defending his father’s sheep against a lion and a bear which gave him the strength, courage, and knowledge of God to face and defeat Goliath the giant.  After defeating Goliath David faced years of stress hiding from Saul, while leading a band of discontented men that at times wanted to kill him. Every fiery test David faced while uniting Israel or conquering enemies, increased his trust and knowledge of God and gave him the strength and courage to do great things.

Starting with a lion and a bear, God increased David’s trials to reveal Himself and mold David into the second King of Israel. You may be in a trial, coming out of a trial, or resting before the next trial. However, always remember, you are being formed into the image of Jesus Christ. Each trial will increase your trust and knowledge of God and give you the strength and courage to do great things for God.

Ending Thoughts
Think about the first trial you walked through and how it increased your knowledge and trust in God.

Concluindo a meditação

THE NARROW PATH TO RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD - DAY 51

by Rev. Robert John Cericola, Carroll, OH - EUA

Day 51

Producing Fruit

John 15:7-8 (AMP) If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. 8 When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine.

The farmer four miles down the road from us owns the corn field behind our house. Every Spring, I am awaked early in the morning by the roar from the powerful tractor he uses to plow, plant, and fertilize the field. With the seed in the ground, except for occasionally returning to spay weed killer and fertilizer the farmer leaves the seed to flourish.  As long as the seed remains in the ground it will sprout grow into a corn plant which will produce many ears of corn at maturity, causing the farmer to rejoice in receiving the fruits of his labor.

Similar to a seed planted in a field the incorruptible seed of God (the Word) has been planted in those that receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

As we take up our cross of obedience and die to our selfish desires, the fruit that the Spirit of God produces, (love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control) begins to come forth in us. As we bear more of the virtues of the vine we are planted in our Father is glorified and honored.

When we remain in Christ the virtues of Christ are molded in us which creates in us a desire to ask God on the behalf of others and not ourselves. And when we ask with a selfless heart that Christ asked in we receive all that we ask for.

Ending Thoughts
Are the fruits of the incorruptible seed of God coming forth from you? The Holy Spirit will help you identify areas in your life that are preventing Him from producing His fruit. When He does repent and ask Him to help you change and He will.

Produzindo Frutos

Concluindo a meditação

THE NARROW PATH TO RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD - DAY 50

by Rev. Robert John Cericola, Carroll, OH - EUA

Day 50

Moved with Compassion

Mark 8:2–10, Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.” And if I send them away hungry to their own houses, they will faint on the way; for some of them have come from afar.” Then His disciples answered Him, “How can one satisfy these people with bread here in the wilderness?” He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven.”

Jesus seeing the need of the multitude that had been following Him for three days was moved with compassion to feed four thousand people with seven loafs of bread and a few small fish.

How often have you looked and saw the need of someone living on the street? Were you moved with compassion into action as Jesus was? Most people avoid people living on the street by quickly looking away, or just ignoring what they see. Others will say to themselves, “he or she brought this on himself so it’s their problem,” or use the excuse of lacking finances to deaden any spark of compassion.  All these maneuvers to avoid the needs of people reveal an underlying lack of love. Love and compassion both move people into action and are like twin sisters.

As we are transformed inwardly into Christs’ image of love, love is formed in us which causes us to react differently to the needs of people. We see their need of God and knowing he can satisfy all their needs we run to the Throne of Grace on their behalf.

When we approach the Throne of Grace in prayer, to make our request for a fellow human being, we are being moved with the same compassion and love Jesus has. Because of love our faith is activated, it is energized and we receive the answer by faith and the person we prayed for receives the blessing. God responds with compassion to those that make their requests with a heart filled with love.

Ending Thoughts
Love moves God to action.
Having compassion for the lost comes through the dying to self and being formed into the image of Christ. Stay on the Narrow Path and you will soon see the needs of people differently and you will be moved to prayer.

Dia 50

Concluindo a meditação

THE NARROW PATH TO RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD - DAY 49

by Rev. Robert John Cericola, Carroll, OH - EUA

Day 49

Who Are You Lord?

Acts 9:3–5 (NKJV), As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.”

Paul’s conversion came when suddenly the brightness of Jesus surrounded him on the Damascus road. Falling to the ground Paul cried out, “Who Are You Lord?” This simple question and Christ’s answer, ““I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting” was the beginning of Paul’s lifelong pursuit to know Christ.

In his pursuit to know and serve Christ Paul suffered the loss of all material things and physically endured beatings, hunger, rejection, and imprisonment. Yet through all his trials Paul was not distracted and kept his focus on knowing Christ and encouraged others to make knowing Christ their life long goal.

1 Corinthians 14:1 (AMP) Eagerly pursue and seek to acquire [this] love [make it your aim, your great quest]...  The pursuit of Love, which is the pursuit of knowing Christ, requires a single-minded focus. Our fast paced, distraction filled society, combined with our inherent selfishness makes the pursuit of knowing Christ impossible until we decide to take up our cross and die to selfish desires.

Ending thoughts
Think about the distractions in your life that are hindering your pursuit or knowing Christ. Through the power of the Holy Spirit you can regain or start your Eagerly pursuit of knowing Christ.

THE NARROW PATH TO RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD - DAY 48

by Rev. Robert John Cericola, Carroll, OH - EUA

Day 48

Asking

James 4:2–3 (NKJV) You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.

As we follow the Narrow Path to Relationship with God, we are being changed inwardly into the image of Jesus Christ the Son of God. Our selfish nature, that lives to fulfill the lusts of the flesh is transforming into the love nature of God that lives to serve others.

Love motivated God to send Jesus. John 3:16 (NKJV) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  Love motivated and continues to motivate God to action and as our transformation process progresses our character and motivation for asking our Father in the Name of Jesus changes.

Jesus instructs us to make no request of Him but take our requests to God the Father and when we make our request make it using His Name. The name of a person does not always represent the character of the person, but the Name, Jesus used in these verses do represent the character of Jesus the Son of God.

John 16:23 (AMP) And when that time comes, you will ask nothing of Me [you will need to ask Me no questions] I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that My Father will grant you whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM].

John 16:24 (AMP) Up to this time you have not asked a [single] thing in My Name [as presenting all that I AM]; but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive, so that your joy (gladness, delight) may be full and complete.

James clearly points out a selfish prayer request receives no answer from God and that principle applies even if we attach the Name of Jesus at the end of our prayer request. However beloved, when you approach the Throne of Grace with your heart breaking for the lost, the hurting, or those bound in disease, you will be asking in The Name of Jesus which represents all that He is. And God will move into action.

Ending Thoughts
No turning back beloved. There are many in the valley of decision that need you and I to go to the Throne of Grace with the love in our hearts that represents The Name of Jesus and ask on their behalf.

O CAMINHO ESTREITO PARA O RELACIONAMENTO COM DEUS - DIA 48

pelo Rev. Robert John Cericola, Carroll, OH - EUA

Dia 48

Pedir

Vocês vivem a lutar e a fazer guerras.

O amor motivou Deus a enviar Jesus.

Concluindo a meditação
